How does BIOTIX S work?

It helps inhibit the development of infections of the respiratory, digestive and joint systems caused by a wide spectrum of pathogens (bacteria and viruses). It is one of the few effective tools we have on the farm in the event of viral infections. It can be used as an adjunct to the administration of narrow-spectrum antibiotics. It has a strong antibacterial effect. Its ingredients block enzymes important for bacterial life, inhibit DNA and RNA synthesis and destroy the internal structures of bacteria. They also have antiviral effects by damaging the outer covers of the virus, inhibiting enzymes and influencing adhesion processes. Additionally, they stimulate local immunity.

Case study No. 1

Turkey BIG 6, 9 objects on a farm , Warmian-Masurian voivodeship

CASE DESCRITPION

In the 7th week of life of the birds, severe swelling of the sinuses was noticed, lasting for 2 days (Fig. 1). Coughing, birds lethargic, snorting clearly audible. Birds shake their heads. Increase in daily mortality from 1-2 to 9 birds.

DIAGNOSIS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

TRACHEITIS

In 4 henhouses, BIOTIX was administered at dose of 100 ml/1000 l in ½ of the water for 5 days, and sodium salicylate in the second ½ of the day.

EFFECTS

In all henhouses, the clinical signs disappeared. No swelling of the sinuses, snorting was observed in individual birds. The number of daily mortality reduced from 9 to 3 birds. After the end of the treatment, no recurrence of infection was observed until the end of the production cycle.

Case study No. 2

Chicken broiler ROSS 303, 20 000 birds, Podlaskie voivodship

CASE DESCRIPTION

Very weak chicks arrived at the farm. High mortality were recorded from the beginning (from 30 on the first day to 450 on the third day). From the 3rd day of life, an antibiotic was administered, after which there was a short-term improvement – after 2 days after treatment, the breeder reported lameness, diarrhea, cough, mortality from 30 to 110 birds and the diversity of birds.

ANATOMOPATHOLOGICAL EXAMINATION

An anatomopathological examination on day 3 showed congestion of the intestines and very severe congestion of the yolk sacs (Fig. 1).

After antibiotic treatment on day 9 of life, another post-mortem examination was carried out, which revealed intestinal congestion, inhibition of yolk sac absorption, and inflammatory changes around the navel (Fig. 2-4).

DIAGNOSIS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

ENTERITIS, OMPHALITIS

From the 9th day, doxycycline with colistin was administered for 5 consecutive days, without any therapeutic effect, therefore, on the 5th day of antibiotic therapy, BIOTIX S was administered at a dose:

1. The first two days 1000 mL/1000 L in ½ of the daily water drunk

2. Next 3 days 500 mL/1000 L in ½ of the daily water drunk

EFFECTS

After treatment, a complete resolution of clinical signs and a decrease in daily mortality to normative amounts were observed. No recurrence of enteritis was observed until the end of the production cycle.
